PIRELLI P2500 EURO: THE FIRST TYRE SPECIALLY CONCEIVED TO BE SOLD ON THE INTERNET

Geneva, 1 March, 2000 - The new Pirelli P2500 Euro, the first Internet economy car tyre will make its debut on millions of computer screens across Europe from the Geneva Motor Show today. The new P2500 Euro will meet its consumers on the Net. It will reside in a virtual space specially created for it from which Pirelli, end users, dealers, journalists and surfers throughout Europe will be able to talk each other. P2500 Euro is the first tyre to have been specifically conceived for sale on the Net, so any motorist with a medium class car will be able to simply navigate the web to buy the P2500 Euro and ensure the new tyre gives his vehicle the kind of safety, comfort, performance and mileage for which Pirelli is famous. This innovative new initiative also involves the press: journalists will find all the information and material they need about the new tyre on the Internet: and that material will be continually updated. So today, Pirelli goes e-commerce with its P2500 Euro, which has been custom-designed for the purpose. Contact will be made with the tyre exclusively on the Internet, where consumers will find full information on the product, its performance, plus pictures and videos. Motorists will be able to navigate within a locator map of the dealers from whom the tyre is available and will also find its price list, size range, fitment chart and a coupon with which to collect their purchase.

Navigators will be able to use a P2500 Euro contact line: every suggestion, every driving experience will contribute to making the virtual performance of the tyre grow day-by-day. Through P2500 Euro, enthusiasts will also be able to communicate with the best-known driving schools, from which they will be able to obtain tips on safety and performance driving: power is nothing without control. P2500 Euro is a totally interactive project, conceived for a continuous evolution. So from Geneva on 1 March, the tyre will be officially announced on site "P2500 Euro on www.p2500euro.com and on www.pirelli.com". On 15 March there will be the start-up on the Italian site www.it.pirelli.com with the publication of the P2500 Euro's price list, the coupon and the locator map of Driver and Key Point dealers from whom P2500 Euro can be ordered on the Net as part of a special promotion. From 4 April, the actual P2500 Euro will become available. By that time, the tyre will have made its debut on all Pirelli web sites in Europe to form a virtual Community network.
